About Big Crooked Lake

What people use Big Crooked Lake for.

Big Crooked Lake is one of the Sister Lakes — the cluster of connected lakes east of Dowagiac. It's an all-sports lake with a mix of shallow sandy stretches and deeper basins, which is why it works for almost any kind of day on the water. Pontoons, ski boats, kayaks, and tubes all share it without anyone running out of room.

For fishing, the lake holds largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and northern pike. The shallows are good for kids learning to cast; deeper water near the drop-offs is where the bass tend to sit later in the day. We deliver to private docks anywhere on Big Crooked.

If you're staying in the area for a few days, Big Crooked connects to Little Crooked Lake by a short channel — easy to lake-hop with a pontoon and worth a half-day if the weather cooperates. Round Lake and Dewey Lake are a short drive away and we deliver to both of those too.

Public access is limited, so most renters meet us at a private dock or use one of the small public launches. We'll route from your address when you book.
