About Donnell Lake

Donnell Lake is in the southeast corner of Cass County, near Cassopolis. It's quieter than the Sister Lakes cluster — fewer cottages, more forest along the shore, and the kind of mornings where the only sound is the loons and the occasional fishing boat starting up.
The lake holds largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, and crappie. There are a couple of public launches and plenty of dock-friendly stretches of shoreline. Anglers who know the lake fish the weed lines for bass and work the deeper basins early or late for pike.
For day-on-the-water rentals, the calm water makes Donnell an easy lake for kayaks, paddleboards, and pontoon cruising. There's enough room for tubing if your group is up for it, but it's not the lake for high-speed water skiing — that crowd usually heads to Diamond or Magician.
We deliver pontoons to private docks on Donnell. Cassopolis is a five-minute drive for groceries, gas, and a meal after the lake.
