About Lake Cora
Lake Cora is in northwestern Van Buren County, near the village of Paw Paw. It's a small inland lake of around 180 acres with a public access point on the south end and a long-established cottage community around the rest of the shore.
The fishing is the lake's main draw. Largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and northern pike all show up in DNR surveys, and the weed beds along the shallower bays produce reliably for bass and panfish. The deeper central basin holds the bigger fish through summer.
For day rentals, Cora is forgiving — calm water, room for a pontoon cruise or some tubing, and quiet coves for kayaks and paddleboards. We deliver pontoons to private docks on Lake Cora and route from the public access point when needed. Paw Paw is a few minutes off the lake for gas, groceries, or a meal after the day.
